If you want a truly comfortable chair, it’s hard to beat recliners. But if I asked you to close your eyes and picture a recliner, I bet you’d conjure up the kind of image I used to have of them: Big, overstuffed, cozy, but not winning any beauty awards. So maybe you, like me, will be surprised that while you’ve spent years avoiding buying a recliner, they’ve had a bit of a glow-up. Yes, you can still find plenty of grandpa-approved models perfect for a knotty pine paneled basement. Still, Georgia Furniture Mart sells some truly modern recliners that would look good in any updated, modern home. Here are a few of the ones I’m loving now.
Dryden Silver Power Loveseat
Recliners can take up a lot of floor space and provide seating for one person. I love that by widening a bit; you have room for two or more people to sit instead of just one. Light upholstery is also an excellent trick for big pieces of furniture: Rather than making your space feel crowded, the pale silver helps a room still feel opened up.
Westport Metal Reclining Loveseat
I love that this loveseat hardly looks like a recliner and can basically can go incognito: It looks like a standard loveseat but can recline with hidden power control in the arm. The light color will also work well in any style living space.
Radius Windstream Power Swivel Glider Recliner
With a slightly rounded shape and pared-back cushion, this recliner brings the minimalist aesthetic of mid-century modern design to a not-so-minimalist piece of furniture. It also swivels at the bottom, making it another great small-space buy: You can reorient your sitting position as needed, whether it’s drinks with friends or movie night.
As always, live beautifully today!
