Sometimes our furniture can get nasty and just plain gross even if you clean it constantly. During this time you may find yourself using your couch a little more than the norm. You may be using it as your new office or home school and as always for recreational use. But the question remains, how do you clean your couch? First start by determining the material of the couch. If you are unsure what type of fabric your couch may be, look for the tag or label and you will find the fabric type and cleaning instructions. There may be codes that you are unfamiliar with. Here are some codes to help assist you with the cleaning process. X: Vacuum only, no water.W: Water use to clean.S: Dry clean detergent only.WS: Steam vacuum with mild detergent or dry cleaning detergent. After you have determined the type of fabric, then vacuum the surface and the corners with the hose. If you have a pet and the hairs just will not come out try lint rolling. This will grab the majority of your loose pet hairs. Then if your couch has any wooden or metal parts, wipe them down. You may do so with a cloth and warm water. If it is really dirty you may also use a little dish soap. Ensure that no soap residue is left on the surface as this could potentially damage your furniture. Now if your couch has stains, you may clean it depending the fabric. Here is how you remove stains per the fabric. Leather: Put into a spray bottle 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup olive oil. Spray the cleaner on the surface and then scrub with a soft cloth.Fabric and Synthetic: In a spray bottle place 1 cup of warm water and 1 or 2 tablespoons of dish soap. Then spray the stained area and scrub with a soft cloth. Once the stain has lifted, use another cloth and with only warm water remove the soap. Once all stains have been removed dry the surface as much as possible with a dry towel. Then allow the couch to air dry. Do not place any pillows or cushions onto the couch until completely dry. Now you have a clean couch that looks brand new!
When purchasing new furniture it is best to think about quality over quantity. Most people have to consider their budget and want to get the most for their money. But how do you do that? How can one truly get the most for their buck? Well here is how. To start you must first know your budget. You want to have the best you can buy and you want a stylish home or office that represents you, and you probably do not want to wait for it. Though only focusing on looks and pricing can cost you in the long run, especially when making hasty decisions. Take your time to research, as this may possibly save you lots of money. Spending a little more “now” may actually be your best bet. Remember that the quality of the purchase should be your main consideration, as it is the most important. Here are a few other things to consider when making your purchases. Durability: The more durable the product the longer it shall last. The longer it lasts, the more time you have to save money. If you purchase a cheap flimsy item of furniture, the likelihood of it breaking and having to repurchase it is very high. Comfort: Just because it is an expensive item, does not mean it is the right item for you. You need to be comfortable whether it be a sofa, chair, or mattress. If you do not have comfort, you’ll only be spending double the money, because you will be seeking another item soon after. Reliability: Ensure that the item you are purchasing is from a reliable source or name brand. This will be helpful if there are any issues as most vendors care about their reputation.
